About Us

Hi! We are Lea and Alex, owners of Happy Little Farmstead.

We started Happy Little Farmstead when we returned to our family farm during the early days of the pandemic in April 2020. Living and working on the farm has taught us to appreciate the beauty and challenges of living in harmony with nature.

In 2022, we opened our farm doors to our community, offering fun and educational experiences for everyone!

About our Farm

What is homesteading?

To us, homesteading is a lifestyle that emphasizes self-sufficiency and a closer connection to nature. Building a strong relationship with our local community is an essential part of our approach to farming. Our farm offers experiences that allow visitors to learn about all aspects of the farming industry. From the food we eat to the care of farm animals, our farm provides learning opportunities that help people to understand the important role that farming plays in our daily lives.

Dairy farming to Agri-Tourism

The Covid-19 pandemic hit a few short months after my parents decided to retire from milking cows after 30 years in the business. The pandemic influenced us to return home in April 2020 for a much needed break from the stresses of the pandemic. As we found solace in nature and the desire for self-sufficiency grew, we decided to start Happy Little Farmstead.

Since that summer of 2020, our goal was to offer fun and educational farm experiences to our local community through farm visits, events, and programming.

In October 2022, we opened our doors to the public for the first time at our grand opening. We are thrilled to welcome visitors and share our passion for the farm!
